Offer of ICCR-GCSS scholarships for Iranian nationals (2017-18)

1.Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), is awarding 20 scholarships for meritorious Iranian students interested in pursuing higher studies in India under its prestigious General Cultural Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) for the academic session 2017-18.

2.The scholarship covers Undergraduate, Post Graduate, Doctoral (PhD) and Post Doctoral studies in India in various fields (except medicine and related courses) i.e., arts, social sciences, management and technical fields.

3.Requirement:

(i) The applicants should have proficiency in English language to successfully pursue his/her studies in India. To determine the proficiency of the candidate in English language the Embassy would conduct a language test on 12th January, 2017 (Thursday). Only the applications of those candidates who qualify in the exam would be considered for the scholarship.
(Note: This test is COMPULSORY and will be held at the mentioned time & venue only. In no case, exemption will be granted.)

(ii) Applicants must submit ONE COPY of duly filled in application form with necessary supporting documents (copies of passport, national identity card, certified English translation of syllabi/mark sheets/graduation certificates for all educational qualification claimed) and relevant documents to support their proficiency in English language if any. The applicant should also provide ONE recent passport size photograph. Candidates applying for doctoral/post doctoral course should attach a synopsis of proposed area of research. Candidates who wish to study performing arts should attach video/audio cassettes of their performance, if any.

5.Candidate should bring ONLY ONE copy duly filled in application form on the day of examination, personally. There is no requirement of submitting the application by post or courier or by hand before the date of exam.

6.The candidates who are qualified in English Proficiency Test will require to submit 6 more copies of application within one week’s time, after announcement of the result.
