Event on ‘Potential for expanding India-Iran trade’

The Embassy of India organized an event on “Potential for expanding India-Iran trade” in collaboration with the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) on March 13, 2019. The event was addressed by Ambassador and attended by around 100 participants, which included Iranian and Indian businessmen, representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ICCIMA. Iranian businessmen were informed about the Rupee payment mechanism between India’s UCO Bank and Iran’s non sanctioned banks having Vostro accounts with the former. They were also informed that the Indian bank, IDBI would also handle rupee transactions with Iran shortly. An informative booklet on the subject, prepared by the Embassy of India was also distributed to the participants. The participants were asked to explore different states of India for business relationships and display stands of different states were also put up at the venue of the event.
